During the last weekend, the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix took place at the famous Nürburgring in the German Eifel. Porsche also attended the oldtimer event and took the opportunity to reveal a special edition of their Porsche 911 Targa 4S: the new exclusive design edition.
2017 Porsche 911 Targa Design
The exterior design of the new Carrera 911 has been updated with new headlights with four-point daytime running lights, new door handles, a redesigned rear aft lid with vertical flaps and new taillights. The Carrera 4 and Targa 4 models can be recognized by their unique luminous band between the tail lights which have a three-dimensional design. The rear of the all-wheel-drive 911s has also been increased by 44mm.
The Porsche 911 Targa continues with its unique look, with the classic Targa bar in place of the B-pillars, a wrap-around rear window and a retractable roof section on the front seats that can be opened and closed at the push of a button.

A new PCM connectivity and multimedia system is now standard on the 911 Carrera models, which features new features and a seven-inch multi-touch touch screen in the center console. Navigation is also standard, and is easy to use with a smartphone-like interface and the ability to handle handwritten input. Smart phones can be connected using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cable, with remote vehicle data and Internet services included free for one year.
2017 Porsche 911 Targa Engine
The new 3-liter, double-turbocharged, 6-liter Porsche engine produces 368 pounds of torque and delivers 20 more horsepower compared to the previous version, with a more resonant soundtrack. Its emissions have also been reduced, due to a 12% increase in engine efficiency. Leaving 420 horsepower, the car catapults from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds (when coupled with the PDK shift and the Sport Chrono package), an increase stemming in part from improved traction from Electro-hydraulic all-wheel drive. The Targa peaks at 188 mph, with a 7-speed manual transmission as standard power translation.
2017 Porsche 911 Targa Price and Release Date
The new Porsche 911 Targa 4S is expected to run on US exhibition floors by early April, with a starting price of $ 122,600.
