Porsche announced that the 2017 Cayenne models will be available for a limited time in the new Platinum Edition. Adding a bit of visual flash as well as functional charm, Platinum Edition models will go on sale here later this year with the rest of the Cayenne family.

The most obvious changes for both Platinum editions are a selection of bright black exterior accents and a 20 inch wheel / tire package that brings RS Spyder alloys housed in prolonged wing arches that can be rendered in black or Color of the body. The bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System and rear window, exterior mirrors and front / rear ParkAssist are also part of the Platinum Edition kit, as is the choice of solid black and white paint finishes. Metallic paints Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver are available as an option.

2017 Porsche Cayenne Interior
Inside the Porsche’s largest SUV, you’ll find an abundance of leather covering the seats wrapping around the center console and gear selector. The Cayenne also receives the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen that you can slide and pinch. The disadvantage for large families is that unlike competitors such as the BMW X5, the five passenger Cayenne does not come with an option for a third row. The adults fit comfortably in the rear row, but the extra leg room is at the expense of the cargo space, which is below average.
The 2017 Porsche Cayenne has not been tested by any of the federal vehicle rating agencies, the Road Safety Insurance Institute or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. “IIHS does not regularly test high-end sports or luxury models,” says spokesman Russ Rader. Available safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Neutral Monitoring, 360-degree view camera and a front-end collision warning with automatic braking.
2017 Porsche Cayenne Engine
The Cayenne’s base trim works on a 3.6-liter 300-horsepower V6 coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SUV family includes four additional, more powerful variants. The 3.6-liter V6 powering the S and GTS versions yields 420 and 440 horsepower, respectively. The top-of-the-line Turbo and Turbo S trim get a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine that makes 520 horsepower and 570 horsepower.
The base base starts at $ 60,000. Starting prices for other trimmings increase up to $ 159,600 for the high-performance Turbo S trim.
