2019 BMW M2 – The new BMW M2 was recently spied near the company’s test facilities in Nurburg, Germany, suggesting that we will soon see a new addition to the sports car lineup very soon. The front of the mule is still covered in heavy camouflage, but it’s not enough to hide the much more aggressive fascia with larger air intakes in the bumper. At the rear, there is a large fixed rear wing.
Development cars for this model have been spotted on the road and at the Nürburgring, showing minor aesthetic changes that will be applied to bumpers and car lights. Larger brakes will also be installed, suggesting more power could be extracted from the N55 engine. Inside the cabin, the track toy will feature a roller cage, a M Performance steering wheel, and carbon fiber decorations. Sport seats covered with Alcantara will complete the interior package. The range-topper will also get cup tires and coilover suspension, and could lose its rear seats.
BMW fans know that this is the N55B30T0 used in the current M2. This engine is good for 365 horses. The power supply of the M4 is the S55B30T0. This engine gives you a lighter crankshaft, stronger pistons, and some other internal goodies. More importantly, it doubles on turbocharging and the power rises to 425 horsepower or 444 horsepower with the competition package.
In the BMW M2 CS, the S55 will be slightly out of tune to produce 405 horsepower. We do not know if the car will be assigned the DCT or if it will also be available with a 6-speed manual transmission. We know, however, that BMW will only launch 1000 units of this special M2.
According to a member of the German auto forum 2ertalk, the M2 GTS / CSL will go into production in March 2019. It will be very limited to only 1,000 units, all carrying a corresponding high price.
