The new generation BMW Z4 roadster was once again spied on the Nurburgring, spy photographers managing to find high-quality photos from inside the car.
Visually, the concept shows us that the new 2019 BMW Z4 will arrive with a more athletic appearance than the current model, which focuses more on luxury than on athletics. This is evident in its rigid folds in its body, the lines of growing characters, the rear flared rear panels, its bumps behind the seats and its shortened overhangs. Also showing its sportier shape, the larger air intakes on the front bumper, the heat extractors behind the front wheels and the vents on the rear bumper.
Inside, athletics continues with a more driver-oriented cabin with all the main controls tilted towards the pilot and a minimalist approach to its buttons and switches. The Concept Z4 also shows BMW’s plans to move forward with its use of screens instead of analog gauges, as it features screens where the gauges are usually.
The Munich vineyard offers three different versions of the Z4. The s20i base will likely be powered by the brand’s 2.0-liter in-line turbo, currently rated at 180 horsepower and 200 lb.-ft. of torque in the BMW 320i. The s30i has the same engine in 248 hp, a combination of 258 lb-ft, with the Z4 M40i using a 320 hp, 340 lb-ft straight-six version from the 340i. There has not yet been confirmed a Competition Pack, which would boost production of 3.0 liters by about 40 horsepower and 30 lb.-ft. Although the basic model comes with a six-speed manual transmission, the higher versions will relieve torque via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Although there is no official release date for the 2019 BMW Z4, we expect it to arrive in mid-2019. It is too far to seriously consider prices at this stage, but it will likely be somewhat higher than the current range of $ 50,665 $ 67.34
