Buick released the Encore some time ago and so far the car has not really changed much. This is mainly because it was essentially an Opel Mokka with a different badge. Now that GM has sold Opel, it seems that the future of the 2019 Buick Encore is uncertain. There are rumors that GM will develop a new model from scratch. It would use the same platform as the Cruze, so it should be a much more refined vehicle than ever before. Thanks to the new platform, the car will probably have a slightly longer wheelbase and a wider track. However, it should be of similar size, which will result in a much more muscular crossover.
The 2019 Encore is not so different from the original model. In fact, there were very few car design updates that were primarily intended to bring it closer to other Buick vehicles. At the front, Encore receives a hexagonal grille with vertical slats, and the Buick logo flanked by two horizontal chrome inserts. The result is quite impressive and certainly better than that of his brothers and sisters. The headlights use wraparound LED daytime running lights and high beams and xenon headlights that make the car very aggressive to watch. The bumper is quite smooth with only a lower intake and a protective shield that makes the car a little bigger than it is. From the profile, the Encore is basically identical to his brother while the back is very similar.
Here, the Buick Encore 2019 manages to deliver a truly premium experience that is not possible otherwise at this price. Even the most basic model is very well equipped for its price. The car comes standard with automatic climate controls, a central infotainment system or even a color conductive display. The car can also be equipped with a better infotainment system, leather upholstery, sports seats with larger side rails and front and rear armrests. In fact, the front seats have individual armrests that are not usually the case with such a small car.
The base model of the 2019 Buick Encore is equipped as standard with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. That provides 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, which is not great. However, the engine has an iron block and a multipoint fuel injection, which means it’s one of the most reliable units in its class. Thanks to that there’s still a lot around, and it looks like GM will keep it alive for a few more years. The upgrade comes in the form of a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that may look identical at first glance.
Unfortunately, at this point, we still have no confirmation on the release date of the future model. It seems that GM is already working on a successor behind closed doors. Because of this, they will probably present the new car in the future, probably in early 2019. Its price will also be a bit more different than the current model. If rumors circulate, then we can expect a higher starting price for the future Encore. The car could now start closer to $ 25,000, which would allow GM to install more kits in the base model.
