The Prelude is a 2 + 2 sports car mainly based on the Accord chassis but with a slightly sportier suspension and a more aggressive look. Although the car sold well enough, Honda decided to completely abandon the model and replace it in some markets by the more sensitive Accord Coupe. Well, it seems now that the car could be raised with the 2019 Honda Prelude Concept which is expected to be introduced at the end of 2019 and put into production by the end of 2020. This time, rumors suggest that Cars will not be based on the front-wheel-drive Accord chassis, but will partially share large mechanical components with the S2000, but will have a slightly longer wheelbase.
Honda Prelude Redesign
Although there are currently some details, it seems that the All-new Prelude is still a front axle. All of its predecessors have used this design and that may be true for this all-new car. Although it’s logical because it will provide connections, we are planning a Honda to use the car with AWD. This will give an advantage over some of their competitors and allow Prelude to defeat rivals. This car will likely be based on Honda’s latest modular architecture and it is safe to assume that it will also use the latest machines.
Honda Prelude Change
The original is based on the Accord but has a completely different look. The upcoming 2019 Honda Prelude must retain its unique appearance on the Accord. In fact, it seems that most people think that cars will share some design hints with the more expensive NSX. Actually, it would be very logical considering how Honda struggled to find a sporty look for their car. Expect lamp light, highly angled design and lower profile than regular coupe. The car can also push the cabin backward, which will create a brake-shooting style. It may be very popular because there are no real competitors when it comes to this type of design.
2019 Prelude Engine
Unlike the Mustang or its competitors in the future, the 2019 Honda Prelude concept should not have a large V6 or V8 engine; Honda will probably focus on energy efficiency and gross performance. Our best bet is that the base engine is a newly refined 1.5-liter turbocharged in-line gasoline engine; good for nearly 200 horses and 200 lb-ft of torque. It will be easily defeated by a car like a Mustang, but that would be more than enough for someone looking for a good performance and a very efficient engine. On top of that, a larger 2-liter turbocharged factory with nearly 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque is also a possibility. It will get a new Prelude up to 60 mph in just 5 seconds thanks to the rear-wheel drive system and the automatic dual-clutch gearbox.
The release date is still unknown because the organization has not yet released the info. We expect Honda to offer it in 2028 or early 2019. At the time of the award, 2019 Honda Prelude base price is around $ 33,000 and the best design is estimated at around $ 36,000. The amount depends on the piece and type of motor.
