The new Jaguar X was just launched in the US last year and has already received several updates for 2018. The base 25t model comes with a brand new online four of the InGenium family of Jaguar. model XE S with more power than the previous version XE 35t. The 2019 Jaguar XE has also added a new cluster display of digital gauges and completed the options sheet with some additional features of active safety and convenience.
Other minor updates include a newly available hands-free safe that opens in response to a footsie under the bumper and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display on models equipped with the Infotainment InControl Touch Pro. The XE’s surround camera parking option introduces some new features, such as cross-traffic detection and additional parking guidance.
The verification of license plates with the UK driving license and driving license (DVLA) agency proved to be a futile effort as the results did not reveal the identity of the engine. That being said, it is likely that the 2019 Jaguar XE will tip a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine with something in the 500 hp region, so it will not work on the toes of Project 8. As reference, the XE S model year 2018 has been equipped with an additional power of 40 hp and 3.0-liter supercharged V6 now displays 380 hp.
Compared to the 2017 model, the base price of the Jaguar XE 25t 2018 is $ 825 higher at $ 36,720, with prices up proportionally for Premium, Prestige and R-Sport trim levels. The XE 20d diesel engine costs $ 825 more, priced at $ 38,220, and the XE 35t opens at $ 43,520. The freshly minted XE S costs $ 53,270. Look for all 2018 models to arrive at dealers in May.
