For three years, Mitsubishi has sold more than 100,000 copies of the PHEV Mitsubishi Outlander. Japanese brand was the first to offer hybrid player combined with the possibility of charging the external battery and they were not mistaken. Buyers were fascinated and the ability to spend more than 50 kilometers with a battery, and obviously do not Disturb slightly higher price compared to the ordinary hybrid. Europe is the largest market for 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, with 66,000 copies sold, which means that two out of every three copies of the model will end among European buyers.
There is no doubt that the current model is unique. Well, we should be able to say the same about the future 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. Although it will be an entirely new car, it is safe to assume that it will continue to share design signals with its predecessor. Some also said that the car would share some clues with the Eclipse Cross, which would be very interesting to see. At the front, the car will probably have the same grille as a shield like its siblings and the same type of headlights. However, the chances are that the Outlander boasts of a more muscular bumper and different vertical fog lamps. We hope that the car will not present the unusual rear lights. Even so, Mitsubishi can surprise us but not for the better.
Unlike its predecessor, the future Mitsubishi Outlander 2019 should have a much more impressive cabin. The materials will be nicer, and there will be a little more kit available for the driver and his passengers. The biggest change however will have to be the design. We hope that the car will share the design of the dashboard, or at least the overall look, with that of the Eclipse which must be one of the best Mitsubishi out in recent years. Some also said that the Outlander would be accompanied by some additional features and better materials, which would go a step further.
In the case of these subcompacts, the fuel economy ratings correlate with the power output. The most powerful of the three is the Renegade 180-hp, but the Jeep delivers the lowest MPEG EPA rating, 21/29 mpg city / highway. The 168 horsepower Outlander Sport is rated at 23/28 mpg, and the least powerful Honda HR-V 141 horsepower has the best fuel economy rating of 27/31 mpg over three (comparing four-wheel-drive models). The total driving range of the EPA (with 45% of highways, 55% of city-dwellers) is almost identical for the Outlander Sport and HR-V at 395 and 383 miles respectively. The Renegade’s total driving range is significantly shorter at 305 miles, mainly because of the smaller fuel tank.
2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s starting price of $ 21,235 places it just above the HR-V ($ 20,645) and well above the starting price of the Renegade ($ 19,540). Our loaded tester always equals the price of its rivals when equipped similarly, which makes it difficult to recommend, especially considering that the crossover has not changed much since its release in 2011. If you are on Mitsubishi, remember to wait until March, when the brand new Eclipse Cross of the automaker will be marketed. I drove it, and it’s by far a superior vehicle.
